Robert’s big dream in tatters already in Emmerdale as two people betray him

Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) is facing a major setback in Emmerdale as two locals conspire to dismantle his aspirations. The beloved character recently relocated to Butler’s Farm following a decision by Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) to appoint him as the new tenant farmer.

Initially, Robert struggled with the transition, aware that his role would create tension with the Dingle family. When Joe suggested replacing him with another farmer, Robert’s resolve wavered, prompting him to confront Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) about the need to prepare for departure.

As Robert settled into his new position, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) vacated the premises but urged Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano) and Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) to remain on the farm, fearing they might lose their jobs. Robert’s first week as a farmer ended in disappointment, culminating in a failed attempt to repair a faulty tractor.

Joe then arrived and revealed to Robert and Aaron that he was selling the farm’s herd of cows. Robert’s frustration grew when he realized the lease agreement didn’t cover the animals, leaving him powerless against Joe’s actions.

Meanwhile, at Wishing Well, Sam Dingle (James Hooton) made progress on the Dingle Farm after securing additional land from Finnegan. Soon after, Matty and Mack reported they were ready to contribute, but their true allegiance was exposed as they secretly aided Sam instead of Robert.

It became clear that the duo had misled Robert, presenting their work as a favor while actually supporting Sam’s efforts. Their betrayal was both strategic and amusing, as Robert unknowingly funded their assistance to the Dingles.

This week’s drama escalates as Joe discovers the cows he planned to sell have vanished. The mystery deepens when Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) is unexpectedly revealed as the thief, only to panic upon learning the bull in the truck is equipped with a tracking device.

With the tracker now active, Joe’s ability to locate the stolen herd is in play. The question remains: will Belle manage to evade discovery, or will a Dingle family member intervene before the truth surfaces?
