Tragedy as 7-Year-Old Boy Killed in Early-Morning Car Collision

Local authorities confirmed that a seven-year-old boy was fatally injured when struck by a vehicle on a main thoroughfare in Staffordshire during the early hours. The incident occurred at approximately 5 a.m. on Saturday near the junction of the A38 and A5206 in Lichfield.

Investigation and Road Closure

The A38 was temporarily closed in both directions between the A5148 and A5 junctions for over 10 hours to facilitate the ongoing investigation. Emergency personnel arrived swiftly at the scene following the collision.

‘We are seeking assistance from anyone who was in the vicinity at the time of the accident, particularly those with dashcam footage or observations that may aid our inquiry,’ stated a representative from Staffordshire Police.
