Melania Trump says rumours linking her to Epstein ‘need to stop’

Denial of Allegations

At the White House, Melania Trump refuted claims of her involvement with Jeffrey Epstein, asserting that such assertions should cease immediately. She highlighted that any associations between herself and Epstein are no longer valid. The First Lady emphasized her lack of awareness regarding Epstein’s alleged mistreatment of his victims, stating, “I was never involved in any capacity. I was not a participant.”

Call for Congressional Testimony

In a sudden move, Trump urged lawmakers to convene hearings for survivors of Epstein’s sex trafficking network. She argued that each woman deserves the chance to present her account under oath before Congress. “Each and every woman should have her day to tell her story in public if she wishes,” she said, “and then her testimony should be permanently recorded in the congressional record.”

“These claims are mean-spirited attempts to defame my reputation,” Trump remarked, dismissing online rumors that Epstein introduced her to Donald Trump.

She further clarified that the 2002 email exchange with Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s former associate, was merely a “casual correspondence” and a “polite reply.” Trump stressed her lack of personal knowledge about Maxwell, reinforcing her stance that the correspondence does not imply any wrongdoing. The reason behind the sudden revelation remains uncertain, though she maintained her innocence throughout the statements.
