Dan Walker to appear at tribunal as ex co-host brings bullying claim

Dan Walker Set for Employment Tribunal Over Bullying Allegations

Claudia-Liza Vanderpuije, a former co-host on Channel 5 News, has initiated a legal proceeding against Dan Walker, a TV presenter, alleging workplace bullying. The case also involves ITN, the production company behind the news channel, and Paramount, its parent organization, as parties under scrutiny. Vanderpuije’s legal representative confirmed the involvement of these entities in the dispute.

According to *The Mail on Sunday*, which first broke the news, Vanderpuije claims Walker subjected her to sexist and misogynistic behavior. ITN has responded by stating the allegations are “denied in full,” with a spokesperson emphasizing that the tribunal will determine the truth. Both Walker and Paramount are yet to provide official statements on the matter.

A prior internal review of claims against Walker found no evidence of wrongdoing and was not supported. The publication noted that Walker has amassed over 50 character references to bolster his defense. The trial, scheduled to commence in London on 20 April, is expected to span five weeks. Vanderpuije’s lawyer, Jonathan Coad, outlined the timeline for the proceedings.

Background on the Co-Hosts’ Collaboration

Dan Walker and Claudia-Liza Vanderpuije began working together on Channel 5 News in 2022. Vanderpuije, who previously hosted *BBC Breakfast*, departed the network in 2024. ITN’s CEO, Rachel Corp, is also listed as a respondent in the claim. The case highlights ongoing tensions within the broadcasting sector regarding workplace conduct.

“This claim, which is denied in full, will be addressed through the tribunal process,” said an ITN spokesperson.
