Authorities have confirmed a child’s death following a suspected canine attack in Dormanstown, Redcar. Armed officers were dispatched to Hardale Grove around 13:30 BST after receiving calls about a child in danger. Upon arrival, the child was found deceased, and Cleveland Police stated the cause was likely a dog bite.
Cleveland Police added that one dog was destroyed on the street, while another was seized from the home. The North East Ambulance Service deployed three crews, with one individual taken to the hospital for further medical attention. The incident is under investigation, with officers still present at the location.

“This is a deeply upsetting and alarming event, and we offer our sympathy to the child’s family,” said Emily Harrison, the district commander for Redcar and Cleveland. “We are conducting a thorough inquiry and ask anyone with concerns or information to reach out to a police officer.”
