Amber Wind Alert Issued for Storm Dave’s Approach to UK Regions

A weather alert has been activated for Saturday evening as Storm Dave is anticipated to deliver strong winds that could lead to disruptions and damage across certain areas of the UK. The Met Office highlighted the potential for injuries or life-threatening situations caused by flying debris, alongside risks of travel delays and power outages.

The alert spans northern England, north-west Wales, and southern Scotland, with its active period starting at 19:00 BST and concluding at 03:00 on Sunday morning. Additional yellow warnings for wind and snow are already in effect, effective from Saturday afternoon, as the country braces for a turbulent Easter weekend.

“Flying debris could pose injuries or danger to life, with a likelihood of travel disruptions and power cuts,” stated the Met Office.
