James Tarkowski injury latest after missing Arsenal vs Everton

Everton’s star defender James Tarkowski has been sidelined for the upcoming Premier League encounter against Arsenal due to an injury. This marks his first missed fixture of the season, with fellow injured player Jarrad Branthwaite also absent from the squad.

Manager David Moyes has opted for Jake O’Brien and Michael Keane as his center-back pairing for the match against the Premier League leaders. While Moyes remained cautious about the severity of Tarkowski’s injury, he emphasized that the team has had adequate preparation time without the 33-year-old.

When asked about Tarkowski’s injury before kick-off, Moyes said: ‘I’m not sharing anything with you. You can see it, we’re missing two centre-halves today, but we’ve also got two who have one really well for us. We’re prepared, we prepared during the week, we’ve had time to do so, so it shouldn’t make too much difference hopefully.’

Arsenal and Everton lineups

Arsenal’s starting XI features Raya in goal, with Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, and Calafiori forming the defensive line. The midfield includes Zubimendi, Rice, and Eze, while Saka, Havertz, and Madueke lead the attack.

Everton’s lineup includes Pickford as goalkeeper, with Garner, O’Brien, Keane, and Mykolenko in defense. Iroegbunam, Gueye, and Dewsbury-Hall anchor the midfield, and McNeil, Neto, and Ndiaye are set to spearhead the offensive efforts.

A victory for Everton at the Emirates Stadium would propel them past Brentford into sixth place in the league table. Meanwhile, Arsenal have the chance to extend their lead at the top of the standings before facing Manchester City at West Ham on Saturday night.
