Hillary Clinton claims Trump appears ‘tens of thousands of times in Epstein files in Congress cover up’
Bill Clinton, former president, and his wife Hillary have been called to appear before the House Oversight Committee to discuss Jeffrey Epstein’s connections. The subpoena comes as lawmakers delve into the extensive records of the late sex offender, who was linked to numerous figures in politics and society.
Opening Statement
In her testimony today, Hillary stated: “I had no knowledge of Epstein’s criminal activities. I don’t remember meeting Mr. Epstein. I never traveled on his private jet or visited his properties.” She emphasized her lack of direct involvement, asserting, “I have nothing to contribute to this.”
“If this Committee is serious about uncovering the truth about Epstein’s trafficking crimes, it would not depend on press briefings to shift focus from President Trump’s actions,” she added, suggesting the inquiry is being used to deflect attention.
Epstein’s name appears over 38,000 times in the millions of documents released by the Department of Justice, linking him to various individuals. Hillary argued that the committee’s focus on Trump’s role in the files is a deliberate effort to obscure the full picture.
Hearing Interruption
The hearing was temporarily halted after a photo of Clinton’s private session was shared online. Conservative commentator Benny Johnson claimed the image revealed Clinton “just STORMED out of the Epstein Deposition because I posted a photo of her testifying.” He noted that the deposition is being recorded and will be fully disclosed.
“Now the Clinton PR team is complaining to the press. This is absurd,” Johnson wrote, stating Colorado Representative Lauren Boebert had given him permission to share the image.
Clinton and Epstein maintained a longstanding relationship, but their connection doesn’t imply criminal guilt. Epstein was a major Democratic donor, including a $20,000 contribution to Hillary in 1999 during her fundraising efforts. Flight logs later showed Bill Clinton as a passenger on Epstein’s private jet during trips to the Virgin Islands, Portugal, Siberia, Japan, and China.
Deposition Details
The couple’s upcoming two-day testimony is part of the congressional probe into Epstein’s network. Though not a formal court proceeding, the session will involve sworn statements and questioning by legal teams. The information will be filmed, transcribed, and made public.
Initially, the Clintons resisted appearing, but they agreed after facing threats of contempt charges. House Oversight Committee chairman James Comer clarified that the investigation isn’t criminal, focusing instead on oversight of the federal government’s enforcement of sex trafficking laws.
“It’s crucial that Congress examine how Epstein and Ms. Maxwell’s cases were handled,” Comer stated, highlighting the need for transparency in the legal process. Despite this, Hillary maintained that the current administration is trying to conceal information, though she insisted, “We don’t have anything to hide.”
