Ex-England and Liverpool footballer Andy Carroll faces trial next year ‘after breaching non-molestation order by repeatedly calling TOWIE star ex-wife Billi Mucklow’
Former England and Liverpool Forward Andy Carroll Set for Trial in 2025 Following Non-Molestation Breach Allegations
Andy Carroll, a retired England and Liverpool footballer, will stand trial in 2025 after being accused of violating a non-molestation order against his ex-wife, Billi Mucklow, a reality TV star. The charges allege he repeatedly called her without a valid reason on March 11, 2025.
Court Proceedings and Delay
Carroll was arrested at Stansted Airport in April 2024 for allegedly breaching the order, which was issued by the Family Court at Chelmsford Justice Centre on October 10, 2024. The court had initially scheduled a plea hearing at Chelmsford Crown Court, but both Carroll and his legal team missed the session.
“I’m going to fix the trial for two days on January 18 next year,” stated Judge Chris Morgan in Carroll’s absence.
“For all we know, he could be in France or Dubai—no one knows,” added the judge, commenting on Carroll’s whereabouts during the proceedings.
Prosecutor Leanne Hemming informed the court that Carroll’s lawyers had believed the hearing was set for the following day, prompting the judge to adjourn the arraignment to March 4.
Career and Recent Activity
Carroll, who recently underwent surgery for a fractured limb and ligament damage, last appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on February 4 using crutches. He indicated he would plead not guilty to the breach of the non-molestation order against Mucklow.
The striker, originally from Epping, Essex, joined Dagenham and Redbridge last July after returning to England from stints at French clubs Amiens and Bordeaux. He previously moved from Newcastle to Liverpool in 2011 for a then-record £35 million transfer and earned nine caps for the national team between 2010 and 2012. Carroll also played for West Ham, Reading, and West Brom.
Personal Life and Divorce
Carroll and Mucklow, who co-parented three children—sons Arlo and Wolf, and daughter Marve—split in July 2024 after a two-year marriage. Divorce proceedings began in September of that year. Mucklow, who was on *The Only Way is Essex* from 2011 to 2013, returned for a short stint in 2018.
Currently, the 36-year-old is dating make-up artist Lou Teasdale, 42, after their meeting at the Glastonbury Festival in June. Carroll was detained by police shortly after landing in the UK from France at Stansted Airport in April 2024, as reported by a source to the *Sun* at the time.
The penalty for breaching a non-molestation order can range from a fine to a maximum of five years in prison, depending on the severity of the case.
